Trnava
Small Slovak Rome – The oldest free royal town in Slovakia and the main religious center of Hungary in the past. Trnava has acquired the moniker Slovak Rome due to its dazzling medieval architecture and being choc-a-bloc with churches. An extraordinary role in present-day Slovakia was played by Trnava University as it was at this alma mater that generations of Slovak patriots, writers, intellectuals and scholars received their education.
